FAQ’s (Frequently Ask Questions) For Baking Workshops
Got a group of you and want a specific date?
We can arrange this for you. There needs to be a min 2 participants and tailor to your groups needs; Call Monique to arrange your event on +44 (0)7973 443527
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? Green Cottages Kitchen is based in the pretty Kent village of Rodmersham Green. You can park on our drive, we are approx 2 miles from Sittingbourne/10mins from junction 5 M2. The nearest train station is Sittingbourne with good services to the Kent Coast and London (1 hour from St Pancras and Victoria stations). Taxi's cost about £10 from the train station to our house.
Can I book a place for a child? We’d recommend that your child is minimum 11 years old or over - this is a full one day workshop shop and they need to be capable of participating over a 6-hour period (with breaks along the way). The price is based on a per person basis, so the price is the same for an adult or a child. All children to be accompanied by a paying responsible adult.
What can/can't I bring to the event? You will be using flour and kneading dough, it's a physical activity. Please wear a short-sleeved top/shirt to avoid clothes dangling in the dough and comfortable covered footwear with soft soles. Leave rings at home they'll only get covered in dough! We will provide you with an apron to wear on the day.
What about COVID or illness? We ask that if you feel ill (runny nose, upset stomach, cough etc) prior to the workshop, advise us immediately, so that we can rearrange your date. We are working with food so it is important you don’t turn up ill! We don’t want to be ill and neither do we want to pass anything on to others who maybe vulnerable. We want to keep everyone safe and have fun baking. We provide hand sanitisers and antibacterial hand wash and we try to keep the group reasonably spaced out so everyone feels comfortable.
Can you cater for special dietary requirements? Yes, we can cater for various dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan etc. however please advise us as early as possible, minimum 2 days in advance of the workshop.
