- Za’atar is a Middle Eastern seasoning that can be used as a condiment, rub or sprinkle, made with sesame seeds with aromatic and tangy sumac and selected herbs and spices. An authentic hand toasted and blended premium spice, prepared by us at Green Cottages Kitchen, in Kent.
- Za’atar is often served with olive oil and flat breads or as a seasoning for salads or vegetables. It can be used as a sprinkle or dry rub for meats, fish or vegetables, mix with a little olive oil to use as a dip or dressing. We also like to add it to natural yoghurt or crème fraiche to make a dip or sprinkle it on houmous. We also like to sprinkle this on focaccia dough just before its put in the oven to bake.
- Naturally Low in carbohydrate, high in protein, it contains healthy fats from the sesame seeds, makes a tasty, slightly nutty, tangy aromatic spice mix.
- Za’atar contains no added sugar at all. Contains no artificial colours, flavours, no added starches or anti caking agents.
